Robert Victor, M.Ac. C.A., NCCAOM

 

Robert Victor holds a masters degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine and is a nationally and state licensed acupuncturist who has practiced acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in California and Madison, WI for over 20 years. He has a degree in social work and has worked in a number of psychiatric settings. Robert's interest in acupuncture and herbal medicine developed when he was living in mountainous areas in 1975, where he gathered and learned the local edible and medicinal plants.

At a later date, after enrolling in one of the early Oriental Medicine programs in California, Robert graduated from the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences in Oakland, CA, in 1989 and 1991 with advanced degrees. He has been in clinical practice in a number of different settings including Group Health Cooperative's Complementary Medicine Department, an integrative medical setting.

To further his study of Oriental Medicine, Robert continuously seeks out advanced course work and interns with senior physicians in his and related disciplines to increase the depth and effectiveness of the work he brings to his patients. This includes work in the area of Acupuncture Orthopedics.

He has had a long time interest in eastern and western concepts of spiritual evolution and the nature of the human subtle body, which include in-depth studies and visits to Tibet, China and India.

Robert's activities include hiking, swimming , kayaking local rivers, winter sports, and book groups.
